### “Why did our API request fail?”

A request identifier and timestamp give the investigation a starting point. Decimal searches Datadog for the relevant entries and uses connected code to interpret the failure, bringing runtime evidence into the customer response.

## Connect your workspace

1. Open Settings → Integrations → Datadog in Decimal.
2. Select the Datadog site used by your organization.
3. Provide an API key and an Application key with the required log-reading scopes, then connect.

## Access and permissions

The Datadog Application key requires logs_read_data and logs_read_index_data. API and Application keys are managed in Datadog Organization Settings.

## Connection details

This connection gives Decimal access to logs. Choose the Datadog site and credentials for the environment your team needs to investigate.
